Tata Motors Car Sales report for December 2023 has been released by India’s very own automaker. In the preceding month, the carmaker sold 76,138 vehicles. This comprises 43,470 passenger cars and 32,668 commercial vehicles, representing a four percent increase year on year. Notably, passenger vehicle sales increased by 9% year on year.
In related news, the company recently opened two additional EV-only showrooms in Gurgaon. These EV-specific showrooms, located in Sector 14 and Sohna Road, are created from reusable or recyclable materials and include a customer lounge, coffee shop, fast chargers, and a digital car configurator.

“The PV industry is expected to post its highest ever sales in the CY23, crossing the significant four million mark, supported by a strong supply situation, new nameplates launched in the SUV segment, and a robust demand during the longer festive period,” said Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. Coming off a strong foundation, the industry had single-digit growth overall, with the primary highlight of this modest increase being the significant increase in emission-friendly product categories. Both the EV and CNG categories grew by more than 90% and 25%, respectively, indicating a growing preference for green and smart technology among Indian customers.”
