2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Launched At Rs. 8.35 Lakh

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV 2022 has been unveiled in India, with pricing beginning at Rs. 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Aside from outright purchases, Maruti has disclosed that the new Ertiga would be available on its subscription platform, with monthly fees starting at Rs. 18,600 for the petrol variant and Rs. 22,400 for the CNG model. Private purchasers may choose between four Ertiga variants: Lxi, Vxi, Zxi, and Zxi+, with the automatic gearbox option available on all save the entry-level type. The factory CNG kit is available on both the Vxi and Zxi models of the 2022 Ertiga, unlike the previous model, which only had a Vxi CNG variation.

Engine And Transmission

The new engine and automated transmission are the highlights of the new Ertiga. The previous model’s 1.5-litre petrol engine has been replaced with a more efficient 1.5-litre DualJet petrol engine. Maruti’s succesi four-speed torque converter has been replaced by a more contemporary 6-speed torque converter unit. The new DualJet unit produces 102 bhp and 137 Nm, which is 1 bhp and 1 Nm less than the previous generation. In petrol mode, the dual-fuel petrol CNG model produces 99 horsepower and 136 Nm, while on CNG, it produces 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm.

A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, as previously, but the major news is the new 6-speed automated transmission, which is available on all bar the cheapest edition of the petrol MPV. Apart from the increased gear ratios, the new unit also has paddle shifters and contributes to make the Ertiga automatic more efficient than before. Maruti says that the new Ertiga gets 20.51 kpl and 20.30 kpl in manual and automatic transmissions, respectively, with the CNG variant delivering 26.11 km/kg.

Ertiga Facelift Inside Out

The Ertiga receives minor external style modifications, the most noticeable of which are new alloy wheels and a changed front grille. With the exception of the chrome trim atop the number plate housing, the new model looks nearly identical to the previous model from the back. New fabric upholstery and faux-wood accents on the dashboard are among the aesthetic modifications inside. There are a few major equipment additions to the upgraded Ertiga. The fully-loaded vehicles come with Maruti’s new 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio Pro system, which includes a voice assistant and linked car technologies. The technology, according to Maruti, has over 40 connected car functions and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and smartwatches. Cruise control, auto headlights, and the option of four airbags (dual front and front side airbags) on higher versions are all unique to Ertiga. Dual airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat fixings are all standard across the range, as they were before.

Maruti has also introduced new Tour M petrol and CNG models for fleet operators, with prices starting at Rs. 9.46 lakh and Rs. 10.41 lakh, respectively.
