The Maruti Suzuki Jimny for the Indian market will be revealed at the 2023 Auto Expo and is expected to be launched in India by mid-2023. Though not officially confirmed, the Indian market will be the first in the world to receive the Jimny in a five-door configuration.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny Engine
Maruti could equip its five-door Jimny with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology (producing 103PS and 137Nm). It could be equipped with two transmissions: a six-speed automatic and a five-speed manual. It will most likely be four-wheel drive and powered by a 140 PS, 1.4-litre BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine.

The Suzuki Jimny has been designed from the ground up to be an off-roader, with a 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 100 Bhp and 128 Nm of torque and a low-range transfer box.

Jimny will receive country-specific changes for India, as previously reported, and Maruti Suzuki is actively collecting feedback from potential customers and conducting market research on the SUV’s pricing position. Srivastava stated, “We started manufacturing Jimny in India for export markets 2-3 months ago.” The export figures for Jimny made in India are quite good. At the Auto Expo, we did it. Jimny was shown to our Indian customers in 2020, and we received a lot of positive feedback.
