According to a recent report on Best Car Web, the five-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny will most likely make its global debut at the Auto Expo on January 12, 2023. The upcoming lifestyle off-road SUV’s test prototypes have been caught on camera several times in recent months in India, and it could debut alongside the Baleno-based YTB.
The five-door Jimny has been the subject of speculation since the latest three-door model debuted in 2018. The three-door Jimny is in high demand around the world, and it is also manufactured in India for export. According to reports, the more practical five-door variant will have a 300-mm longer wheelbase. (Provigil)

It is said to be 3,850 mm long, 1,645 mm wide, and 1,730 mm tall, with a wheelbase length of 2,550 mm. In Europe, the five-door Jimny could be equipped with the same 1.4-liter four-cylinder 48V mild-hybrid petrol engine found in the S-Cross, and in the near future, a fully hybrid powertrain could be used to meet more stringent emission standards.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny Powertrain
The well-known 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15C petrol engine with smart hybrid technology could be used in India. It’s already in the new-generation Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and it’ll be in the new Urban Cruiser compact SUV. The DualJet naturally-aspirated mild-hybrid engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 103 PS and 137 Nm of peak torque.
It’ll most likely be paired with a five-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via Suzuki’s AllGrip system and a manual transfer case. According to the spy shots, it will have circular LED projector headlamps, vertical front grille slats, upright pillars, longer rear doors and overhangs, new wheels, and other features.
The interior is expected to be more luxurious than the three-door Jimny Sierra, with a larger nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as new surface trims and finishes. It will compete against the upcoming five-door Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
