Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) launched their premium dealership brand — Nexa — in 2015 with the S-Cross crossover. In the same year, Maruti Suzuki also launched the Baleno as a Nexa-exclusive offering. The Nexa Baleno is Nexa’s best-selling model, as well as the country’s best-selling premium hatchback. Maruti Suzuki currently offers five vehicles through the Nexa brand of dealerships: the Baleno, Ignis, Ciaz, XL6 and Grand Vitara. Maruti Nexa currently operate in 280+ cities of India through 440+ showrooms.
Maruti Suzuki also revealed that nearly half of Nexa customers are under the age of 35. To further extend their market share, Maruti Suzuki are all set to launch 2 new offerings under the Nexa brand — the Fronx crossover SUV and Jimny 4WD SUV. Both models were shown at the 2023 Auto Show and are expected to be released in the coming months.
Speaking on the occasion, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), said, “NEXA was conceptualized in 2015 with a philosophy of providing unique experiences, along with innovative and intelligent technology through a diverse product portfolio. Every NEXA product is curated with the best of technology, design and features for customers’ delight. The success of NEXA reaching the 2 million sales milestone is a testimony of customer’s love for our hi-tech and feature-packed offerings and premium experiences. NEXA has contributed to more than 20% of total Maruti Suzuki sales and the numbers are going strong.”
Shashank Srivastava also revealed that the Fronx crossover and Jimny 4WD SUV have received over 38,000 reservations to date. The new Maruti Suzuki Fronx will be positioned between the Baleno and the Grand Vitara and will be powered by a 1.0L turbo petrol engine. The Jimny, on the other hand, will be positioned as a lifestyle off-roader to target a niche set of buyers.
