Maruti Suzuki Y17 7-Seater SUV To Launch in 2025 – Report

Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce two new UVs in the nation in the first half of 2023: the Fronx crossover and the Jimny 5-door lifestyle SUV. Both SUVs, as well as the new EVX electric SUV concept, were on display at the just completed Auto Expo 2023. The production version of the electric SUV, dubbed YY8, will go on sale in 2024-25.

Maruti Suzuki is also developing an all-new three-row SUV codenamed Y17. The Maruti Y17 3-row SUV will compete with the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. The new SUV will be built on Suzuki’s Global-C platform, which also supports the recently released Grand Vitara and the Toyota Hyryder. It will also be sold in a few overseas areas.

According to sources, the new Maruti Y17 SUV would be manufactured at the brand’s new platform in Kharkhoda, Haryana. This new facility will be operational by 2025, with the 7-seater SUV being the first model to be produced there. This facility would have a capacity of 2.5 lakh units per year.

In comparison to the Grand Vitara, the new SUV will feature a larger wheelbase. Maruti Suzuki will be able to accommodate third-row seating thanks to the larger wheelbase and expanded length. The new model will have various design improvements that set it apart from the 2-row Grand Vitara. It will most likely be supplied with two engine options: a 1.5-litre NA petrol and a 1.5L 3-cylinder TNGA petrol with robust hybrid technology provided from Toyota. Toyota might provide MSIL with a 2.0L NA petrol engine and a 2.0L strong hybrid technology. The new Innova Hycross is powered by these engines.

Timeline for the Launch of the Maruti 3-row SUV

The new three-row SUV will compete with the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and MG Hector Plus. It will be manufactured in the brand’s new Haryana facility and will be available in 2025.
