Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance Launched at Rs 3.3 Crore in India

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the much-anticipated four-door sports coupe in the country. The AMG GT 63 S E Performance is priced at Rs 3.3 crore at launch. (ex-showroom). The new offering, according to the carmaker, is their most powerful vehicle to date, and it receives cosmetic updates in the form of revised front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, a new exhaust system, and a charging port on the right side of the rear bumper. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance will join the firm’s performance car lineup in our market. AMG’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle is the powerful 4-door coupe. It will face off against the hybrid Porsche Panamera Turbo S. This car is one of ten new vehicles that Mercedes-Benz intends to introduce in India. Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance: Drivetrain

The AMG GT 63 S E Performance is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and an electric motor. The rear axle is powered by this electric motor. It’s mated to an automatic AMG Speedshift MCT 9G transmission. The engine can generate 630bhp and 900Nm of torque, while the motor can generate 201bhp and 320Nm of torque. The engine and motor combine to produce a maximum torque of 1,470Nm and an astounding 832bhp.

The top speed is 316km/h, and the acceleration time from 0 to 100km/h is 2.9 seconds. The 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system on the AMG GT 63 S E Performance provides fully variable torque distribution and even a drift mode. It’s worth noting that Mercedes installed a 6.1kWh battery pack with 70kW power. The AMG GT 63 S E Performance can now travel up to 12 kilometres solely on electricity. In this mode, the car can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h.

Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance: Dimensions

The newly launched AMG GT 63 S E Performance measures 5,054mm in length, 1,953mm in width, and 1,447mm in height. It also has a 2,951mm wheelbase. Copper Orange Magno is one of seventeen exterior paint colours available.

The new model gets a massive Panamericana grille with vertical struts on the outside. Three large holes in the lower part of the nose supply air to the engine. In addition, the headlights on this vehicle come standard with Multibeam LEDs. The overall design is very aggressive.

Three contoured lines on the long hood give it a muscular appearance. The AMG forged 21-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres are one of four alloy wheel options on this one.

The retractable wing at the back is manually adjustable. The car’s flanks are hidden by the large taillamps. The diffuser and twin-pipe trapezoidal exhausts are housed in the lower section.

Interior

The interior of the car includes sports seats, plenty of carbon fibre, Alcantara inlays, as well as AMG-specific embellishments. Two 12.4-inch panels that serve as a digital instrument console and a touchscreen infotainment system, respectively, will also be available. There are many different colour options for the high-end Nappa leather trim in the cockpit. There is also a new twin-spoke AMG steering wheel with circular buttons. While driving, the hybrid-specific displays show energy flow and charge rate. On the other hand, the AMG Dynamic Select offers a variety of modes, including Electric, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race, Slippery, and Individual. The feature equipment list of the new model comprises 64-colour ambient lighting, a Burmester Audio system, an acoustic comfort package, a glass roof, a rear-passenger display, zone climate control, and ADAS. 

Market Rivals 

The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance’s sole rival in India. Mechanically, this car makes use of a 4.0-litre V8 and an electric motor, similar to the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance. However, its combined output figures are 700bhp of maximum power and 870Nm of peak torque.
