The Mumbai police have placed 2 Interceptor vehicles on the Mumbai Coastal Road after residents complained about supercars speeding down the 10-kilometer stretch between Marine Drive and Worli.
According to reports, high-end supercars such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis have been witnessed driving erratically on the coastal route over the weekend. They disrupt the designated quiet areas surrounding the Breach Candy Hospital in addition to breaking speed limits. The interceptor cars will keep an eye on traffic and enforce the speed limit, which is set at 60 km/h in tunnels and 80 km/h on straightaways.

Anil Kumbhare, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), said, “Currently, the coastal road is not entirely covered by Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras. Once it is, we will be able to take immediate action against violators. Until then, these interceptor vehicles will help curb speeding on this stretch.”
