New Lexus LX 700h With Hybrid Powertrain

Lexus has revealed significant upgrades to its flagship SUV, the LX 700h, for 2025, including the addition of a new hybrid powertrain. This is the first time the monster has been offered in an electrified version, alongside the regular petrol and diesel choices. Lexus has unveiled not only a new powertrain, but also the off-road-focused “Overtrail” model, as well as other tech and feature enhancements throughout the LX series.

Lexus LX 700h: Powertrain

The 2025 Lexus LX 700h will be driven by a twin-turbocharged 3.4-litre V6 engine mated to a hybrid powertrain. This system has an electric motor nestled between the engine and transmission, as well as a battery pack. According to preliminary data, the overall output is 457 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque. Power is provided to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission, which is the same as in non-hybrid vehicles.

In addition, the hybrid system includes an alternator and a starter motor. The vehicle can still function if the hybrid system fails since the starter allows the engine to run independently and the alternator charges the 12-volt auxiliary battery. The high-voltage battery, whose capacity has not been determined, is installed under the cargo area with a relocated 12V auxiliary battery. Both are placed in a waterproof tray with a water sensor, allowing the LX 700h to wade through water as deep as 700 mm.

Lexus LX 700h: Features

Lexus has improved the interior technology throughout the LX line. New features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, redesigned front seats, and an upgraded fast-charging wireless pad. Massage capabilities are available on high-end VIP and Executive models, with full-body and targeted settings with adjustable intensity.

The Overtrail version, like Lexus’ smaller NX and GX models, is an off-road derivative. This version features a distinctive Moon Desert paint finish, matte grey aluminum wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres, and a blacked-out grille with dark trim elements. Inside, the Overtrail edition has monolith-style upholstery with ash burl black accents. Furthermore, it includes front and rear differential locks, in addition to the usual center differential lock.

Lexus LX 700h: Price

The Lexus LX 700h, along with the other revised models, is expected to be released in stages throughout various regions starting in late 2024.

The Lexus LX was debuted in India in 2022 exclusively in the LX 500d trim, and its current ex-showroom costs range between Rs 2.82 crore and Rs 2.84 crore.
