New Toyota Vitz Hatchback Based On Celerio Displayed – See Details
Toyota-Suzuki has already released a wide range of goods in India as well as certain overseas markets such as South Africa. In South Africa, the most recent model is the Toyota Vitz hatchback. It is essentially a rebadged version of the current-generation Maruti Celerio, which is available in our market. The Vitz will replace the Agya hatchback in South African markets.
The Toyota Vitz retains the same general appearance as the current-generation Celerio. The inclusion of Toyota and Vitz insignia is the only noticeable modification. The inside shots have yet to be released. We foresee no significant changes to the cabin over the Celerio. Toyota may, however, add different upholstery colours and a Toyota emblem on the steering wheel.
A 1.0-litre K10C, 3-cylinder dualjet petrol engine with twin VVT and idle start-stop technology powers the hatchback. This engine has a power output of 65.7bhp and a torque output of 89Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT unit are available. The Celerio is one of the most fuel-efficient petrol vehicles on the market in our country. It is said to have a fuel economy of 25.23kmpl with a manual transmission, and a verified mileage of 26.68kmpl with an AMT transmission.
The Toyota Vitz, like the Celerio, will offer a 313-litre cargo capacity. It has a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with smartphone navigation, an engine start/stop button, a multi-functional steering wheel, electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs, keyless entry, hill hold assist with AMT, twin airbags, ABS with EBD and braking assist, and other amenities.
For those who are unaware, Toyota sells the Rumion MPV, which is based on the Ertiga, in the South African market. According to sources, this model will also be introduced in our market this year. In addition, Toyota will release its own version of the new Maruti Suzuki Fronx in India in 2023.
