Jeep has released the first design sketch for the new-generation Compass SUV, which will appear in the coming months. The corporation has also announced that manufacture and sales of the next-generation Compass will begin in Europe in 2025, implying that a debut may occur before the end of the year.
The company’s only image is a drawing of the SUV’s profile, implying that the Compass will retain the Jeep family’s upright proportions and squared-out design components. The design has an upright fascia, a pronounced shoulder line, flared haunches, squared-off wheel arches, and a gently tapering roofline.
The next-generation Compass, like the next-generation Citroen C5 Aircross, will be built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium architecture. Jeep has revealed that the next-generation SUV would offer a variety of powertrain options, including all-electric, hybrid, and non-hybrid internal combustion. The business has also stated that the SUV will have ‘best in class performance’ and’state-of-the-art technology.’
The new Compass will be positioned below the Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S in the company’s global lineup, and it will be followed by an all-new Renegade in the coming years.
The current generation Compass debuted globally in 2016 and was introduced in India the following year. Since its launch, the SUV has been manufactured locally at FCA India’s Ranjangaon factory, with a facelift scheduled for 2021. It remains to be seen whether the new-generation Compass will eventually find its way to Indian shores, with some reports indicating that the model may be unsuitable for the region due to low sales.
