Pagani C10 Next-Gen Hypercar Makes Spy Photo Debut

We don’t receive spy photographs of a brand-new Pagani hypercar every day. The little Italian label has already teased its forthcoming release, albeit only in the most rudimentary form. These photos provide our first peek at an early prototype of what is now known as the C10.

Although we are used to seeing wild Zondas and winged Huayras, our initial impression is that it appears to be rather conservative on the outside. If the thin bladed side mirrors aren’t enough confirmation, the sight of circular dials on the carbon-fiber dash should suffice. If you’re still not convinced, the rear quad exhaust’s center-exit makes it a no-brainer.

Of course, in this situation, conservative is a relative term. When we look closely at the front, we notice big corner vents with scoops of some type. Pagani’s signature short nose is there, with the steeply sloped windscreen sinking deep into it. There are probable vents in the hood, as well as vents or sculptured features on the doors, covered below the front wheels with camo. Though it could be a fake panel, there appears to be a scoop behind the roof feeding air to the engine. Set over a gnarly-looking diffuser is a flat, broad backside with taillights that don’t quite look production-ready.

If you’re worried that Pagani will abandon its raging AMG V12 engines, don’t be. The reintroduction of the 6.0-liter is confirmed, albeit the power output is uncertain. Last year, Horatio Pagani stated that the C10’s focus would be on track performance rather than high power output. Even so, a 30 to 40 horsepower boost from the Huayra would put the C10 around 800 horsepower. It should be quite the machine if it checks in as a featherweight with track-focused aero.

On September 12th, we’ll find out. Pagani has already set the date, and will celebrate the C10’s arrival in Milan with a festival of art, music, and technology.
