No, Ram isn’t actually building this truck cover.
Ram takes advantage of April Fool’s Day to parody the aesthetics of its main rivals, the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado. The Ram Trucker Cover is applied to other pickups to make them look like Ram’s own model.
The Ram Trucker Cover video follows the structure of a late-night TV commercial attempting to promote a useless product. Our protagonist is asked if he is bored of seeing his friend’s F-150 by an unseen narrator. The answer is obviously yes, and this cover is the solution. The ad concludes with a variant for the Silverado.
In essence, this concept is just a conventional car cover with a Ram 1500 on the outside. However, the ad’s presentation is lovely. There’s a list of sites where you can use the Trucker Cover, just as in many of these real advertisements, and the suggested venues include amusing things like baby showers and pot-bellied pig races.

Ram was contacted by Motor1.com to ask whether it planned to produce a couple of these covers only to make a joke. They aren’t being produced for real.
Ram’s truck lineup was the second-best-selling car in the United States in 2021. The corporation moved 569,388 of them, up 1.0 percent from the previous year. Ford delivered 726,004 examples (down 7.8 percent) of the F-Series to take the bestseller crown once again. Chevy sold 529,765 units (down 10.8 percent) of the Silverado.

Ram is planning to deliver a fully electric pickup truck in 2024, so it’s looking ahead. The business has only shown it in renderings thus far, but the aesthetic components include a prominent lighting signature in the front. The hood is bulging, and the fenders are thick.
The electric Ram’s mechanical specifications are still scarce. It is said to be based on the STLA Frame platform, which is capable of handling batteries with capacities of over 200 kilowatt-hours. This might give you a range of 500 miles (805 kilometers). It will compete in the electric pickup category against the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado EV, Tesla Cybertruck, Rivian R1T, and other prospective competitors.
