Renault Zoe EV Gets Mild Updates For 2022

Following a major redesign in 2019, the Renault Zoe will receive a model year update for 2022.

The Renault Zoe will be available in three trim levels in 2022: Equlibre, Evolution, and Iconic. Aside from the inclusion of the new Shadow Grey exterior tint and new wheel designs, there are no stylistic changes over the facelifted model. The E-Tech emblem on the trunk lid and the warm titanium finish on Zoe’s letter e are two more new features.

The 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, keyless entry, manual air conditioning, four speakers, and a 22kW AC charger are standard on the base-level Zoe Equilibre, although ADAS is restricted to automatic emergency braking (AEB). We’re guessing that the inadequate safety equipment won’t improve Euro NCAP’s humiliating zero-star rating.

The Zoe Evolution adds GPS, rear parking sensors, auto air conditioning, and a few additional basic ADAS (traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist), as well as 16-inch Eridis rims and a shark antenna to the mid-range model.

Finally, the Zoe Iconic, which comes with a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels with warm titanium highlights, gold elements on the grille, bumper intake, and foglight surround, as well as a new sticker on the profile, is the best-looking of the group. Inside, the top grade is the only one featuring a bigger 9.3-inch touchscreen for infotainment, as well as new TEP and recycled fabric upholstery with gold piping and distinctive embossing.

The electric powertrain delivers 108 horsepower (80 kW / 110 PS) in the Equlibre and Evolution trims, and 133 hp (100 kW / 135 PS) in the Iconic. The 52 kW battery is standard on all three models, with a range of 395 km (245 miles) in the base model and 386 km (240 miles) in the more powerful one.

The Renault Zoe 2022 is already on the market in France. The Equlibre starts at €27,700 ($29,130), the Evolution at €29,800 ($31,338), and the Iconic at €30,900 ($32,495), including VAT and government incentives.

The Renault Zoe is the best-selling electric vehicle in Europe during the last decade, according to Renault, with 380,000 units delivered between 2012 and 2022. It’s unclear how much longer it will be available, given that the French carmaker will shortly debut the Renault 5 EV, which is identical in size.
