The Enyaq EV and Elroq EV are the results of Skoda’s long-awaited BEV aspirations for India. According to our sister journal Mobility Outlook, both developments are real and will launch in 2025.
Skoda Enyaq
The Enyaq, which debuted at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo, is expected to be Skoda’s flagship vehicle after launch. Initially, the automobile will be imported through the CBU channel; however, if the manufacturer receives sufficient demand, it may be produced domestically. The sibling vehicle, the Volkswagen iD.4, will accompany it on its tour.
Skoda Elroq
The other well-known BEV will be the Skoda Elroq BEV, the company’s first small SUV, which will go on sale globally on October 1. The SUV will travel on the VW group’s MEB platform and measure about 4.5 meters in length. This is also anticipated to be a CBU, at least initially, with the possibility of a CKD route change based on demand.

The Skoda Epiq, which was presented in concept form earlier this year, is the one that will be essential to use, though. It is anticipated to serve as the foundation for Skoda’s A0 BEV, adopting many of its styling elements, feature set, and available engine combinations. Skoda may produce a version of this car that is shorter than four meters, making it a significant vehicle in the Indian market. The Epiq concept is 4.1 meters long. Next, it will face off against vehicles like the Mahindra XUV400 EV and the Tata Nexon EV.
