There will be no mechanical alterations this time, as with every other special edition of these SUVs that the business has released in recent years. Unlike the previous versions, however, these two SUVs will now receive some much-anticipated innovations in addition to small cosmetic modifications on the exterior and big changes on the interior.

To begin, for the 2023 model year, the new Harrier and Safari have got an update that includes the installation of modern driver aid technologies (ADAS). Autonomous emergency braking (AEB), forward collision alert, lane assist, and even traffic sign recognition are now available from the carmaker. In addition to these cutting-edge collision prevention technology, the Red Dark variant includes six airbags.

One of the new 2023 Red Edition vehicles’ notable features is the presence of a significantly larger 10.25-inch touchscreen screen, which is once again coupled with a nine-speaker JBL sound system. In addition, the SUV siblings now have a fully digital instrument cluster rather than the previous semi-digital one, as well as the much-anticipated 360-degree camera.

The inside of the Red Edition SUVs has been upgraded with new “Carnelian” red seat upholstery with a quilted pattern, red leatherette grab handles, grey dashboard trim, and piano black accents on the steering wheel. In addition, the new Edition vehicles’ front seats are now ventilated, and the driver’s seat has memory and is electrically adjustable.

The SUV’s exterior, on the other hand, has undergone minor changes, including a slightly different shade of “Oberon Black” and a subtle touch of red on the front grille. The updated variants have the same 18-inch alloy wheel design, with the exception of red-painted brake callipers on the inside.

The next new Red Edition SUVs will use the same 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine as previously indicated, with no mechanical changes. This engine has a maximum power of 170 PS and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. This engine is offered with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission in both the Harrier and Safari.

The SUV duo is expected to go on sale by the end of March 2023, and the price of the Harrier and Safari Dark editions, which are currently priced between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 22.60 lakh and Rs 19.78 lakh to Rs 23.25 lakh (all prices ex-showroom), respectively, is expected to rise due to the amenities and safety upgrades it offers.
