Tata Harrier Electric Platform Debuts

The Harrier EV concept, according to the manufacturer, is built on the Land Rover-derived OMEGA ARC platform, which is paired with Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture. The platform has been extensively redesigned to accommodate electricity. Tata engineers removed the fuel tank and transmission tunnel to create an interior flat floor. Because the platform will be lighter, it should be more energy efficient.

Range & Battery

Tata Motors hasn’t divulged anything regarding the Harrier EV’s battery capacity or electric powertrain. The SUV will have a twin motor all-wheel drive system, according to the business. Tata may possibly release the SUV with front-wheel drive. The new model is expected to have a battery pack of roughly 60kWh and a real-world range of 400-500km.

Tata Motors has also announced that the new Harrier EV would be capable of vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging. The Vehicle-To-Load capability will enable the Harrier EV to operate as a power bank, charging external devices like as e-bikes, computers, and others. The V2V technology will enable the automobile to charge other electric cars.

Interior Design

The Tata Harrier EV concept comes near to production and previews the design for the upgraded Harrier and Safari models. The concept’s style will most likely be carried over to the production-ready variant. To distinguish it from the standard ICE Harrier, the SUV got considerable design alterations.

The Tata Harrier EV has split headlamps and a new LED light bar that runs across the width of the SUV. It has a new blanked-off front grille and a revised front bumper with sharp creases and blackened housing for the primary headlight cluster. It also has a new central air inlet with a blanked-off screen and EV-specific parts.

The side profile is very comparable to the standard model; however, the fenders and huge wheels have a new ‘EV’ insignia. It also has flush door knobs. The Harrier EV concept has all-new taillamps with a unique LED light strip that spans the width of the tailgate. It has a completely redesigned back bumper as well as new body covering.
