Tata Nexon EV 45 kWh Launched At Rs 13.99 Lakh

Tata Motors has released an additional notable update for its top-selling electric car (EV), the Nexon EV, which has a larger 45 kWh battery pack. The Nexon EV 45 kWh boasts a greater real-world range of up to 370 kilometers thanks to a larger battery pack. The base Creative variation of the Nexon EV 45 kWh portfolio costs Rs 13.99 lakh, while the Fearless, Empowered, and Fully Loaded Empowered Plus variants cost Rs 14.99 lakh, Rs 15.99 lakh, and Rs 16.99 lakh, respectively (all pricing, ex-showroom). The Nexon EV 45 kWh top-spec model costs Rs 70,000 more than the Nexon EV Empowered Plus LR, which has a 40.5 kWh battery, at this price.

Tata Nexon EV: Battery Pack

The Nexon EV 45 kWh from Tata Motors uses the same LFP prismatic cells as the previously released Curvv EV. The company reports that by reducing the number of cell components by 62%, it has improved dependability “through complexity reduction.” Furthermore, a 15% increase in volumetric density and an 8% increase in energy density have been seen with the implementation of prismatic cells. More significantly, the 45 kWh Nexon EV, like the Curvv EV, has a greater 1.2C charge rate. This implies that, when connected to a 60 kW DC fast-charger, the 10 to 80% fast-charging period is only 40 minutes.

Tata Nexon EV: Range

Tata estimates that the real-world range of the Nexon EV 45 kWh will be between 350 and 370 kilometers, despite the fact that it can travel up to 489 kilometers on the modified ARAI test cycle. To put things in perspective, the Nexon EV 40.5 kWh model’s estimated real-world range is 290 to 310 kilometers.
