Indian Motorsport Racer
In India, motorsport may not be as well-known as cricket, but it has produced some outstanding athletes. Narain Karthikeyan and Jehan Daruvala have ensured that the Indian public remains enthralled by motorsport.
1. Jehan Daruvala
Jehan Daruvala, a Mumbai-based racer, is making waves in the Formula One world. To suggest he is India’s best shot at Formula One racing is an understatement.
Jehan was the first Indian to win a Formula 2 race in Bahrain, and he was the first Indian to do it. In addition, the Indian racer has six podium finishes to his credit. Carlin Motorsport is now represented by Daruvala.
2. Gaurav Gill
Gaurav Gill’s name would be missing from any list of India’s top Formula One racers. He is a former MRF driver in addition to being one of India’s best Formula racers. He was one of the first Indian rally drivers to win the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship.
What’s more remarkable is that Gill has won the title three times! Gaurav received the Arjuna Award in 2019 for his outstanding achievements in racing.
3. Karun Chandhok
Karun Chandhok last raced for Mahindra Racing in Formula E. Chandhok competed in the 2011 German Grand Prix to pursue his passion for racing. He was also employed by Lotus as a reserve and test driver.

4. Narain Kartikeyan
Narain Kartikeyan is not only India’s finest Formula One driver, but he has also been awarded the Padma Shri. In 1992, this Coimbatore-born Formula One driver started his career. With multiple victories and accomplishments, he swiftly climbed to become India’s top Formula racer.
Kartikeyan’s most notable feat was being signed by the Jordan Formula One Team. By teaming up with Jordan, Narain became the first Indian to compete in Formula One.
5. Sailesh Bolisetti
Sailesh Bolisetti wears a lot of headgear. He is an actor, a fitness franchisee, and assists with the family’s clearing and forwarding business in addition to being a racer. Despite this, he has competed in the Euro Racecar NASCAR Touring series, GT4, and several one-make racing championships, winning 16 times in his career.
He was the first ever from our nation to qualify for the British GT Championship – GT4 in 2012, where he finished on the podium three times. He made his admirers pleased by winning the Volkwagen Polo Cup India in 2010.
