Toyota Fortuner Legender now costs over Rs 1.5 Crore in Pakistan, Alto priced around Rs 18 lakh

Launched last year, the Toyota Fortuner Legender is the top of the line variant of Fortuner SUV.

In Pakistan, the price of the Toyota Fortuner Legender has increased by Rs 31 lakh, cost more than Rs 1.5 crore today. Due to the ongoing devaluation of the local currency and higher taxes, not just Toyota but other automakers have increased the price of their cars sold in the nation. A Pakistani website reported that the Suzuki Alto now has a starting price of Rs 17,89,000 and that the top-of-the-line car now costs almost Rs 24 lakh following a price increase of Rs 3.8 lakh. For comparison, the base Maruti Suzuki Alto vehicle costs Rs. 3.39 lakh in India (ex-showroom). Pakistan is currently going through an economic turmoil, which is taking a toll on all sectors and the automotive industry is also a part of it.

The Toyota Fortuner Legender, which debuted last year, is the most expensive model of the Fortuner SUV. The Fortuner Legender 4×4 model was introduced in India at a price of Rs 42.33 lakh (ex-showroom), which is more expensive than the Fortuner Legender 4×2 SUV, which was introduced for Rs 37.58 lakh (ex-showroom). Here is the Toyota Fortuner Legender’s price breakdown by variation in Pakistan.

“The significant devaluation of Pakistani rupee and increase in taxes and duties, including the government-imposed levy of Capital Value Tax (CVT) on all 1,300cc and above vehicles, increased raw material prices and transport costs have adversely impacted IMC, as well as vendor cost of production,” the company said in a July 28 notification to its dealers.
