The C-HR Concept was first introduced to us in 2014. Then, in 2016, its production-ready version was released. With the 2022 C-HR Prologue Concept, Toyota is giving us a preview of how they plan to build on what they started with the second-generation C-HR.
The C-HR Prologue, like its predecessor, was created at ED2, Toyota’s European Design Development headquarters in the South of France. Unlike other models, which have a more family-oriented design, the C-HR Prologue introduces a bolder design. According to Toyota, the second-generation C-HR, which is based on this Prologue Concept, will still have an outrageous design like the first one, but it will be better in terms of design language, styling, and fun factor.

The Prologue concept concept features a new “hammerhead” face, similar to the one on the new-generation Prius, interlocking shapes, LED lighting, and a distinctive grille-headlamp setting, all of which are integrated into a contemporary-looking fascia. On the remainder of the body, there are numerous interlocking designs with diamond-cut finishes and a three-color paint scheme. This design borrows heavily from the Aygo Prologue Concept from the previous year.
Plug-in hybrids will predominately make up the new C-HR. The model that is ready for production should show up within the next few years.
