The entire cast of the well-known travel programme “Car and Country” from the UK has landed in Kerala to film the most recent episode of the show. During the next two weeks, it will be filmed in Alappuzha, Wayanad, and two other regions of the state.
The event, which is being hosted by Kerala Tourism, will feature Porsche and other supercars racing through lush South Indian countryside.
Porsche Track Version GT Cars, Porsche Electric Taycan, Porsche Utility Macan, and Porsche Cayenne are just a few of the vehicles zooming past. The competitors will then proceed to the Gulf terrain.
Deepak Narendran and Ashique Thahir, two Keralites, are behind the wheel of this daring “rush,” along with Freddie Hunt, a pro racer and the son of the famous James Hunt, the 1976 F1 World Champion.
The other squad members are Marion Ferg, Amy Holiday, Aimee Watts, Preetham Madhavan, Adam Bertenshaw, Ken Clay, Paul Richards, Sammy Seeley, Paddy King, and Charlotte Fantelli.
The crew has already experienced some thrilling journeys through the charming byways of England, France, and Scotland. These journeys were broadcast through the OTT service Amazon Prime UK for almost two months, and viewers ate them up.
Ashique from Kozhikode, a supercar enthusiast, is so ecstatic to be a part of this elite league of the “Car and Country” rush that he simply cannot contain his enthusiasm.
“The shoot of the last episode was challenging. We had to spend the night in tents in the freezing highlands. We had to do wild river rafting in adverse climate conditions and do off-roading with the car,” said Ashique.
“We let out a feel of the charming European landscape, rural communities, cultures and cuisine from the window of our supercars. We are now pleased to direct interest on the natural brightness of this state with a green tint. I have no doubt that the show that comes out of our trip will be a huge success with both the local and international public,” a team member named Charlotte Fantelli said.
It’s both a travel and adventure show with Freddie Hunt throwing in his passion and speed into the ring.
Deepak Narendran from Kochi who has settled in the UK now, launched the show in 2014 and Ashique teamed up with him in the later episodes.
It slipped into a two-year break due to the pandemic before re-emerging in 2022.
