SUVs are currently attracting a lot of interest from new buyers in the Indian market. The midsize SUV segment is one of the most competitive right now, and it will only get more competitive. A few automakers are working on new mid-size SUV models that will be introduced in this segment in the coming years.
Here are five upcoming midsize SUVs in the Indian market that will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, and others.

1. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
In collaboration with Toyota, Maruti Suzuki is developing a brand new midsize SUV for the Indian market. This new model, dubbed Grand Vitara, will replace the S-Cross in the Indo-Japanese automaker’s lineup. This upcoming model will make its debut in India on July 20th, and it will be powered by a powerful hybrid powertrain that includes a 1.5L petrol engine as well as the tried and tested 1.5L K15c engine.
2. Toyota Hyryder
The upcoming Maruti-Toyota SUV will be sold in India under the latter’s brand as well. Toyota’s Hyryder version will have minor exterior and interior design differences from Maruti’s Grand Vitara version, but the equipment will be identical. It will also be powered by a 1.5-liter hybrid powertrain.
3. Honda New Mid-Size SUV
The midsize SUV, internally codenamed Honda 3RA, is expected to arrive in early 2024, following the arrival of an all-new compact SUV midway through next year. The SUV will feature Honda’s new electronic architecture and will most likely share the City midsize SUV’s engine lineup. Furthermore, the City Hybrid e: HEV system could be used on the midsize SUV.

4. Kia Seltos Facelift
The facelifted Kia Seltos has already debuted in global markets and is expected to arrive in India later this year or early in 2023. In response to the growing competition in the midsize SUV segment, it will receive cosmetic updates such as an updated front fascia and rear end, as well as new technologies and features in the cabin.
5. Renault Duster
Renault is considering introducing the new-generation Duster (internationally known as the third-generation model) in India. The production of the SUV’s previous generation ended earlier this year in India, nearly a decade after it was first introduced. The next-generation model will be based on the CMF-B platform and will make its global debut in 2023-2024, followed by an India launch soon after.
