Ather Energy has announced the domestic launch of the updated 450 Plus and 450X, which are priced around Rs. 5,000 higher than their previous iterations. The Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer has also announced that test rides for the new models will begin today across the country’s showrooms.
2022 Ather 450 Puls/ 450x Price
The 2022 450 Plus and Ather 450X start at Rs. 1.16 lakh and Rs. 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Ahmedabad), respectively, and include the applicable FAME II scheme, Ather Dot/portable charger, and performance upgrade. In cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Calicut, and Cochin, the 450x Gen 3 costs up to Rs. 1.57 lakh.

The quoted price for the 2022 Ather 450 Plus Gen 3 is up to Rs. 1.35 lakh in the aforementioned cities, as each state has different subsidies and schemes in place based on local government policies. The upgraded RAM from 1GB to 2GB is one of the major highlights of the updated Ather 450X, and it should enable faster processing speeds in the e-scooter.
2022 Ather 450 Plus/450X Changes and Updates
In terms of cosmetic changes, the 450X Gen 3 will feature a new mirror design that the brand claims will improve visibility. Customers who have reserved the Ather 450X will be automatically upgraded to the new scooter and notified via email. The 2022 Ather 450 Plus and Ather 450X, as expected, comes with a larger Lithium Ion Battery Pack.
It is claimed to be 25% larger and 20% longer-lasting, with a capacity of 3.7 kWh (up from 2.9 kWh), and thus the riding range on a single charge has increased from 116 km to 146 km. In the IDC cycle, the real-world range is between 85 and 105 km.
2022 Ather 450 Plus/450X Range
According to the brand, deliveries of the 2022 Ather 450 Plus and Ather 450X will begin immediately. The ARAI claimed range for the 450 Plus is up by 8 km to 108 km, while the real world range is 85 km – up by 15 km in Eco mode. The larger battery pack has added 3.6 kg to the weight of both scooters. The electric motor’s maximum output is up to 6. (smartersurfaces) 2 kW in the Warp mode.Â
The 450 Plus’s peak output remains at 5.4 kW, while continuous output and torque figures remain unchanged at 3.3 kW and 26Nm in the 450X and 22 Nm in the 450 Plus. Aside from wider 100/80-12 rear tires on both scooters for improved traction in all weather conditions, a new aluminum sidestep has been added.
