2022 Maruti S-Presso New 1.0L Petrol Engine Priced At Rs. 4.25 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) today announced the launch of the new S-Presso, which features a 1.0-liter K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT petrol engine with idle start/stop technology and boasts an improved fuel economy of 25.30 kmpl in the Vxi(O)/Vxi+(O) AGS variant, 24.76 kmpl in the Vxi/Vxi+ MT, and 24.12 kmpl in the Std/L

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso comes standard with ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and HHA (Hill Hold Assist) across the AMT variants, while electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors are available in the Vxi+/Vxi+(O) variants. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, commented on the new launch, saying.

“With its bold SUV-like design, S-Presso has carved out a strong niche for itself.” Over a three-year period, we sold over 202,500 units of S-Presso, demonstrating that it struck the right chord with customers. “With many advanced features, spacious interiors, and a commanding SUV stance, the mini SUV S-Presso was well received by customers.”

2022 Maruti S-Presso Engine

The new 1.0-liter engine produces a maximum power output of 66 hp at 5,500 rpm and 89 Nm of peak torque delivered at 3,500 rpm, with 17 percent claimed higher fuel efficiency in AMT and nearly 14 percent improved fuel economy in MT. The overall length of the S-Presso is 3,565 mm, the width is 1,520 mm, and the height is 1,553 mm (Std, Lxi) and 1,567 mm (Vxi/Vxi+/Vxi+(O)).

Dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, pre-tensioner and force limiter front seatbelts with front seatbelt reminder, reverse parking sensors, a high-speed warning system, and other notable safety features are standard. The new 1.0-litre engine-equipped S-Presso is available in six trim levels and is priced between Rs. 4.25 lakh and Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). 

The new petrol model’s entry-level price is Rs. 25,000 higher than the Std (O) trim. The S-Presso has seen a significant drop in sales in recent months, and it remains to be seen whether the new powertrain and enhanced features will help to revive its volume tally.
