Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new C-Class in the Indian market, with pricing ranging from Rs. 55 lakh for the C200 to Rs. 56 lakh for the C220d and Rs. 61 lakh for the C300d (all prices, ex-showroom). The sixth-generation W206 C-Class made its world debut in February 2021, and reservations for the vehicle began earlier this month in India.
2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Engine & Powertrian
The base C200 is powered by a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 204 horsepower and 300 Nm of peak torque. The engine takes the place of the larger 2.0-liter unit. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine has been retained, producing 200 horsepower and 440 Nm in the C200d and 265 horsepower and 550 Nm in the C300d.
A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard with all three engines. A mild-hybrid 48-volt technology is used to improve fuel efficiency. It also aids in the development of an additional 20 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. The C200 has a claimed fuel economy of 16.9 kmpl, whereas the C200 has a claimed fuel economy of 23 kmpl, making it the most fuel-efficient Mercedes on the market.
The C200 and C220d can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, while the C300d takes 5.7 seconds. The Avantgarde series includes the C200 and C220d, as well as the C300d AMG, which features unique alloy wheels and a more aggressive front grille piece. The new C-Class has expanded in size, and the inside has been updated.

It boasts a longer wheelbase of 2,865 mm (up 25 mm), as well as increased total length and breadth. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class features reduced overhangs, redesigned headlights and tail lamps, a noticeable hood bulge and shoulder line, and other exterior changes. Cavansite Blue, Obsidian Black, Salatine Grey, Mojave Silver, High-tech Silver, and Manufaktur Opalite White are the six exterior body colours offered.

The interior gets a vertically-positioned 11.9-inch touchscreen with second-generation MBUX, in-car connective tech, voice assistance, new AC vents and touch-sensitive pads on the steering wheel, dual-pane sunroof, wireless charger, dual-zone automatic climate control, powered front seats, and so on, with less use of physical buttons.
