2023 Honda City Facelift India Launch In January 2023

Honda Cars India is preparing to launch the fifth-generation 2023 Honda City facelift in India. The upcoming sedan’s test mules have already been spotted in India wearing camouflage. Aside from the facelift, the upcoming City will receive new features.

According to Times Now, the new Honda City facelift will be available in India in January 2023. The Honda City for India will most likely receive minor updates such as new bumpers. In India, the Honda City is marketed as a premium family vehicle rather than a sporty sedan.

To compete, the new Honda City may receive some interior upgrades, such as more connected car features, a wireless charger, and ventilated front seats. It will also get a new infotainment system with more connectivity features. Honda will almost certainly keep the dual-tone black and beige leather upholstery in the facelifted version.

2023 Honda City Facelift Engine

When it comes to powertrains, the facelifted Honda City is expected to drop the current 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. This diesel engine produces 100 PS of maximum power and 200 Nm of maximum torque and is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. Honda may abandon this diesel engine due to the additional costs of upgrading it to BS6 phase 2 standards, which require significant investment. However, given the current low volume of diesel vehicles sold, Honda may abandon this engine.

That means the new Honda City facelift will have two powertrain options. The first is the 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which produces 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque and will be available with both a 6-speed manual and a CVT transmission. A 1.5-litre full-hybrid powertrain with an Atkinson cycle petrol engine, a front-mounted electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery will also be available.

Honda’s plans for 2023 include the introduction of a new midsize SUV to compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, in addition to the facelifted City. It will, however, reduce its lineup by discontinuing current models such as the Jazz, WR-V, and fourth-generation City.
