The Land Rover Defender V8 has been spotted testing in a more potent configuration on the Nurburgring. The extreme off-roader has been spotted around the ‘Ring in spy photos before, but this is the first time it has been seen on camera, thanks to YouTube channel Motor.TV. Better yet, the potential top-spec Defender was being vigorously pushed during a flying lap.
The hotter Defender V8 prototype was seen with more aggressive design cues that point to a more powerful engine despite having less camouflage. Due to its Defender 110 V8 base, it has four exhaust tips that protrude from the back.
The prototype, however, appeared to be riding higher than usual and has bigger wheels as well as wider and extended wheel arches. Also anticipated is a wider track.

All of these factors point to an off-road vehicle that is more capable off-road and on pavement, which was the aim of the hotter Defender V8 project. The model hasn’t yet been given a name by JLR, but it won’t be an SV or SVX suffix.
