Maruti Celerio X to Make Its Debut on April 24?

Following the successful launch of the new-generation Maruti Celerio, the carmaker may be preparing the crossover version for an impending debut.

In the previous generation, the SUV-inspired crossover variant of the Maruti Celerio was known as the Celerio X, and the debut of the latest-gen vehicle is expected to happen shortly. Celerio takes pride in being the most fuel-efficient vehicle available. Price-conscious automobile customers are flocking in droves to this appealing proposition. The Celerio X may be a good option for those who want the Celerio but want something a little more durable. Maruti Suzuki has recently requested that the media set aside April 21-24 for a ‘Xperience’ that is ‘Xtraordinary and ‘Xmplified.’ While no other information is available at this time, we believe it is the new-generation Maruti Celerio X, which is shown in the digital illustration below.

The Celerio X will be based on the conventional Celerio, but with a redesigned aesthetic package. It’s not difficult to imagine what differences it’ll have — the cross-hatch is likely to have a lot of stylish black cladding on the front bumper and side profile. To complement the crossover traits, the wheel arches and rims will be clad in black. Auxiliary roof rails will be installed, as well as black window covering. The fog lamp housing will also be blacked out, and a black skid plate will be installed to give the car a more muscular appearance. Finally, a touch of black glow around the main headlamp cluster is expected.

Specs

The new-generation Maruti Celerio will be powered by the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that powers the regular model. The K10C unit produces 67 hp and 90 Nm and replaces the previous K-series unit that powered the first-generation model. A 5-speed manual transmission and AGS are available as transmission options (AMT). The Celerio boasts a mileage of 26.68 km/l in the latter. In addition, it has a CNG option, which produces 56 hp and 82 Nm of peak power and torque. The Celerio X, on the other hand, may not be available with the CNG powertrain.

Ex-showroom, the ordinary Maruti Celerio costs between Rs 5.15 lakh and Rs 6.94 lakh. Celerio X’s price is likely to be in the same ballpark. The Hyundai Santro and Renault Kwid, as well as its sibling, the Maruti WagonR, are among the Celerio’s competitors.
