Mahindra, a domestic automaker, has announced a price hike of up to 2.5 percent across the board. Depending on the model, this is a price increase of Rs 10K to Rs 63K over the ex-showroom price. The Mahindra XUV700 premium SUV has seen its third price increase since its introduction in late 2021.
The cause for the price hike, according to Mahindra, is a spike in commodity prices such as steel, aluminium, and palladium. The new Mahindra XUV700 petrol range currently has prices ranging from Rs 13.18 lakh to Rs 22.75 lakh. The base diesel model now costs Rs 13.70 lakh, while the top-end option costs Rs 24.58 lakh.

A 2.0L 4-cylinder mStallion turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2L 4-cylinder mHawk turbocharged diesel engine are also available in the new XUV700. The petrol engine has a power output of 200 horsepower and a torque output of 380 Nm. The diesel engine comes in two versions: MX (155bhp/360Nm) and AdrenoX AX (185bhp/420Nm (450Nm with AT).
A 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission are available. Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom are the four driving modes offered by the diesel engine. Performance and steering response are said to be altered by these drive modes.

The Mahindra XUV700 has a lengthy waiting list of up to 90-92 weeks. The petrol MX model has a waiting period of approximately 14-16 weeks, while the diesel MX has a waiting period of approximately 23-25 weeks. The AX3 and AX5 petrol and diesel models have a 38-week and 45-week waiting time, respectively.
