Tata Motors has introduced Curvv and Avinya, two new electric SUV designs. The Tata Curvv is a mid-size coupe SUV based on the brand’s Generation 2 architecture, whilst the Avinya is a third-phase electrification plan based on the brand’s Generation 3 (Gen 3) EV platform. Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Group, stated that the business aspires to capture 30% of the EV market by 2030.
“We are benchmarking to be among the top and have extremely high expectations,” the manufacturer said of its entry into the EV space. Tata’s Gen 2 platform is stated to be “about modifying architecture to be more EV ready,” while Gen 3 removes multi-energy limitations and enables pure EV independence.
