Maserati will debut a new lineup at Pebble Beach during Monterey Car Week, specifically during The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The MC20 Cielo spyder made its North American debut at the prestigious event.
Maserati’s Global Chief Executive Officer, Davide Grasso, attended the ceremony, as did Maserati Americas CEO, Bill Peffer, and Klaus Busse, Head of Maserati Design. Aside from the open-top supercar, the Trident brand also unveiled the MC20 coupe and the all-new Grecale SUV, showcasing the marque’s most recent models on the market.

The Maserati MC20 Cielo, which was unveiled globally in May, is the convertible version of the Maserati MC20 coupe, the company’s first supercar in over a decade. The Cielo, which translates to “sky” in Italian, is the second iteration of the MC20’s monocoque chassis, focusing on increasing rigidity and thus adding weight. The MC20 Cielo is 143 pounds heavier than the coupe (65 kilograms).
The retractable glass roof with an electrochromic (smart glass) window is one of the MC20 Cielo’s highlights. Using Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology, this system can transform from clear to opaque at the touch of a button on a central screen.
