Bentley Mulliner Bespoke Celebrates 500 Personal Commission Builds For 2022

In 2022, the Bentley Mulliner personalization division will mark a significant achievement by having finished 500 customised vehicles in the previous year. To put that number into perspective, the team needed 1,000 vehicles to be outfitted between 2014 and 2021.

A Flying Spur S Hybrid for a client in the UK is the 500th Mulliner model of the year. The vehicle has a Spark blue body, a brand-new shade from the division. The Blackline specification on the body also darkens the exterior brightwork. It is mounted on black, 22-inch, ten-spoke wheels. An illuminated Flying B badge is worn.

Beluga leather upholstery with diamond quilting and hints of Klein Blue can be found inside. The cabin is decorated with high-gloss carbon fibre. The metal controls, dial bezels, and air vents have a polished appearance.

The public premiere of the Flying Spur S took place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier in 2022. The grille, lower fascia, side inlets, mirror caps, window surrounds, rear bumper accents, and exhaust outlets all have black components. It has tinted headlights and taillights.

In order to personalise vehicles, Bentley established the Mulliner division in 2014. The automaker claims that since 2018, orders have increased by five times. Due in part to this popularity, each car’s option revenue increased by 36% during the same time period.

According to Paul Dickinson, Bentley’s chief commercial officer for Mulliner and motorsport, “2021 had already been a record year for Mulliner Design that saw the team need to grow by 50% to meet customer demands, and in 2022 that team has really been tested as it has seen a year-over-year increase of 85% in customer/retailer commissions.”
