Maruti Suzuki kicked off Day 2 of the Auto Expo 2023 by revealing two highly anticipated vehicles: the Jimny and the Baleno Cross. Fronx is the name given to the Baleno Cross, which will be sold through the Nexa dealership.
The Fronx is a quirky-looking SUV that measures under 4 metres and is based on the brand’s Heartect platform. It has a sporty and stylish design, with the front influenced by the Grand Vitara. It has a coupe-like C-pillar in profile. The SUV then gets an LED strip running across the width of the vehicle, along with signature LED block tail lights.
The interior is similar to that of other new Maruti models. It has a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless charger, a flat-bottom steering wheel, HUD, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, six airbags, and other features.
The Fronx SUV has two engine options under the bonnet. Maruti is reintroducing the 1.0-litre boosterjet engine, which produces 99bhp and 147Nm of torque, as well as the familiar 1.2-litre Dual jet petrol engine, which produces 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. There are three transmission options: a five-speed manual, a torque converter with six speeds, and AMT. Stay tuned to Autobizz for more information on the Auto Expo 2023.
