Could this be the hotter version of the mid-engine plug-in hybrid Ferrari?
Varryx of YouTube has discovered a new prototype testing in Maranello for the first time. Yes, we’re not talking about another Purosangue test car, but rather an SF90 Stradale with a few noticeable alterations and several interestingly disguised sections.
What precisely is this Ferrari SF90 Stradale prototype? At this time, details are scant, but according to the person who discovered the vehicles, it will be a hardcore version of the SF90 with the VS moniker, which stands for Versione Stradale. F173 VS is said to be the code.
The Ferrar 812 VS was the previous Prancing Horse to wear the VS label, which was eventually replaced with the 812 Competizione appellation. It came with an upgraded V12 engine that produces 830 horsepower, making it Ferrari’s most powerful pure combustion engine to date.

What can we expect from the F173 VS or the SF90 Stradale VS as a result of this? For the time being, this will remain a mystery, though if the information obtained by the video uploader is accurate, we can expect it to arrive around 2023 or later.
On that note, the prototypes shown here have exterior alterations such as a hole in the hood covered by a metal plate (a la Ferrari 488 Pista). The yellow markings confirm the vehicle’s hybrid powertrain. On the red test unit, there will be a wing (not seen on the prototype) as well as mic’ed up dual-exhaust tips.
And, sure, four SF90 mules have been spotted in Maranello, with black, silver, and yellow joining the red sample. The black prototype, interestingly, has a label on the back that states “No Mulo,” which roughly translates to “No Mule.”
