Maruti Suzuki debuted its Fronx compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2023 in India, alongside the much-anticipated Jimny off-roader SUV. Bookings for the Fronx have already begun for Rs 11,000 as of today.
The Fronx is available in five different configurations: Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. Arctic White, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver are among the five mono-tone and three dual-tone colours available for the SUV.
On the outside, the Fronx’s front fascia and grille design are clearly inspired by the Grand Vitara, but with the new three-pod LED headlamps. It has a coupe-like C-pillar and a sloping roofline in profile. The SUV then gets an LED strip running across the width of the vehicle, along with signature LED block tail lights.
The interior is similar to that of other new Maruti models, with features such as a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless charger, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a HUD, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, six airbags, and more.
The Fronx SUV has two engine options under the bonnet. This includes a 1.0-litre boosterjet engine with 99bhp and 147Nm of torque, as well as the well-known 1.2-litre Dual jet petrol engine with 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. There are three transmission options: a five-speed manual, a torque converter with six speeds, and AMT.
