Bajaj Pulsar N160 is the brand’s third motorcycle to be based on an all-new platform, after the Pulsar N250 and F250. We had ridden this sporty Pulsar and here’s what we liked and disliked about the bike. We’ve also compared its performance with its arch nemesis, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Price
The Bajaj Pulsar N160 is priced at Rs 1,22,854 for the single-channel ABS variant and Rs 1,29,645 for the dual-channel variant (both ex-showroom Delhi).
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Features
The instrument cluster is the same semi-digital infinity display as seen on the N250. The analog pod houses the tachometer, while the LCD screen packs the speedometer, trip meter, fuel level readout, gear position indicator, and time. Apart from an all-LED illumination, you also get a USB charging port.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Engine
The Pulsar N160 features a new 164.8cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine churning out 16PS and 14.65Nm, which is 1.2PS less but 0.05Nm more than the NS160. Furthermore, this is 1.55PS and 0.08Nm less than the segment leader, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
The Pulsar N160 employs the Pulsar N250’s frame and also gets the telescopic fork and monoshock setup as its bigger sibling. That said, the telescopic fork for the dual-channel ABS variant is a 37mm unit, against the 31mm one on the single-channel variant.
Braking is managed by discs at both ends. The dual-channel ABS variant gets a 300mm front disc while the single-channel one offers a 280mm disc. Both variants get a 230mm rear disc brake. The N160 also gets fatter tyres compared to the NS160 with a 100-section at the front and 130-section at the rear.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Rivals
The Bajaj Pulsar N160 rivals the Hero Xtreme 160R, Yamaha FZ-S Fi V3, Honda XBlade, Suzuki Gixxer, and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. Other alternatives for the same price bracket include the Aprilia SR 160, Vespa VXL 125, and the OLA S1 Pro.
