The Hilux is a lifestyle pickup SUV that was introduced in March 2022 by Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), a major player in the Japanese car industry. The business began accepting reservations for the car at dealerships for Rs 1 lakh or online for Rs 50,000 prior to its formal debut. However, the company stopped accepting reservations after receiving an overwhelming response. After almost a year, the business has finally begun taking reservations for this highly coveted luxury pickup truck in the nation.

The 44 MT High costs Rs 35.8 lakh, followed by the 44 AT High, which costs Rs 33.68 lakh. All of these costs are ex-showroom, it should be emphasized. The Hilux pickup truck has a variety of interior features, including leather seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, dual-zone climate control, second-row AC vents, an 8.0-inch infotainment system, TFT multi-function display, UV cut glass, and more. Among other things, electrochromatic mirrors.

In terms of the drivetrain, there is only one 2.8-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine available for the Hilux, and it produces a maximum of 204 PS and a maximum torque of 420 Nm with the manual transmission and 500 Nm with the automated transmission. The Toyota Fortuner uses the same engine configuration.

The Fortuner and Hilux both use the same platform, however the Hilux has 4X4 as standard. There are also a high-range and low-range transfer case. Toyota offers the A-TRAC traction control system with the pickup truck in addition to other features like downhill assist control.

The Hilux has seven airbags as standard equipment for safety. Additionally, traction control and vehicle stability control are switchable. Two driving options on the vehicle change the steering settings as well. The Hilux can wade through water that is 700mm deep and has a Limited Slip Differential. A rear diff lock and an electronic diff lock are available for extreme off-roading.
