The redesigned BYD e6 MPV will be known as the BYD eMAX 7 in India, it was recently announced. The eMAX 7 will make its market debut on October 8th, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer has now confirmed. To put it in perspective, the BYD MPV is marketed as the “M6” in foreign regions. Before it launches in India, you should be aware of the following:
BYD eMAX 7: Design (Expected)
The BYD eMAX 7 shares a similar body shape and silhouette with the e6 MPV prior to the facelift; however, BYD has made significant design changes that are probably intended to make it more similar to the M6 that is sold worldwide. It will have new LED headlights and a revised grille style that draws inspiration from the BYD Atto 3. A modified LED tail light arrangement, updated bumpers, and new alloy wheels are among the other anticipated exterior modifications.
BYD eMAX 7: Features
According to BYD India, the India-spec model would have a 6-seater configuration and is anticipated to incorporate design cues from the BYD M6 cabin. The dual-tone cabin concept and redesigned dashboard design are features of the international-spec eMAX 7. It also has a redesigned center console, new drive mode selector, and new materials on the dashboard.
The large 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen, wireless phone charger, panoramic glass roof, and ventilated front seats from the M6 are among the features that BYD may add to the India-spec eMAX 7. Six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and all-wheel disc brakes are anticipated to be included in its safety equipment. Additionally, it might have level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which include blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking.
Battery Pack And Range
Worldwide, there are two battery options available for the eMAX 7: a 55.4 kWh pack and a bigger 71.8 kWh pack. The bigger unit is connected to a 204 PS motor, whereas the former is connected to a 163 PS electric motor. The BYD eMAX 7 boasts vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability and a stated range of up to 530 kilometers according to the New European Driving Cycle.
Rivals
We expect that the BYD eMAX 7 will be more expensive than the Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom, nationwide) e6. The MPV offers an electric alternative to vehicles like the Toyota Innova Hycross and Toyota Innova Crysta, albeit it doesn’t have any direct competitors in India.
