There’s a new wave of affordable sports cars from China.
We recently discussed the GAC Empow, a Chinese sports car that is a less expensive and less powerful rival to the Honda Civic Si. Although it is obviously not accessible in the United States, we received excellent feedback from our readers and chose to investigate another sports option from the same market. Meet the Changan UNI-V, folks.
Changan is a Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer based in Chongqing, and one of its most recent models is a sporty sedan. In fact, as seen in a new video from our friends at Wheelsboy, the vehicle appears to be quite aggressive, especially up front. There’s an unique semi-closed-off radiator grille and a highly unusual front fascia with two huge air holes in the corners.

The UNI-V appears like a liftback from the side, with a slanted roofline and a wide rear window. There’s an electronically controlled spoiler behind it. (Tramadol online) The back fascia boasts a large diffuser with two integrated tailpipes, as well as LED lighting that run the length of the vehicle. Overall, it’s a sleek and modern-looking vehicle with cues from European automakers such as Peugeot and Audi.
We got even more Peugeot sensations inside the cabin, especially after viewing the “two-stage” dashboard with the short, oval-shaped steering wheel. There are four screens in total: two small ones flanking the instrument cluster and one for the entertainment system on the centre console. The material quality appears to be adequate based on what we can see in the video.
The UNI-V, like its GAC opponent, features a modest 1.5-liter engine beneath the hood that doesn’t quite match the car’s too aggressive look. The engine produces 188 horsepower (138 kilowatts) and torque of 222 pound-feet (300 Newton-meters). Â A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission channels the power to the front wheels and we suppose the car has a similar performance as the GAC Empow, which features the same powertrain configuration.
