Although Minority Report debuted in cinemas in the summer of 2002, fans of the futuristic film may now join the fight against future crime by purchasing this Lexus CS 2054 prototype.

The automobile, which was designed by Calty’s Harald Belker as a concept for a 2054 production model, will be auctioned by Mecum next month.
The ad is sparse on details, however it appears that the identical car – or one very similar to it – was sold for $16,500 (£12,851 / €15,290) by RM Sotheby’s in 2013. Director Steven Spielberg approached Lexus about building a future car for the film, according to the listing. The 2054 idea was conceived, and it was designed to be a “crash-proof automobile with biometric security systems” and a fuel cell motor.
Of course, the automobile was genuinely powered by a “modern Chevrolet powertrain,” but there was a lot of cinematic magic involved. This allowed the idea to drive in the film, however it’s worth noting that the automobile now has the same design as the 2005 film The Island.
While we can’t be positive that the two auction conceptions are identical, it is plausible, and the car’s better condition is most likely explained by a comment in the previous Sotheby’s ad. “The inside is not totally done, and the body has minor fractures,” it said. However, the deal includes a full, unused spare body.”
Regardless, buyers will have the option to buy not just a concept automobile, but also a movie car at the auction.
