The Honda CB 500X was the brand’s first middleweight adventure bike for India. We had ridden the CB 500X and were thoroughly impressed by it.
Honda CB 500X Price
The Honda CB 500X is currently no longer available on the official website, and its price before was Rs 5,79,952 (ex-showroom, Gurugram). The CB 500X was available in two colors: red and black.
Honda CB 500X Features
The Honda CB 500X is compact, thus presenting a more friendly demeanor than other middleweight ADVs in the market. It gets a front beak like most adventure bikes along with, LED lighting all around, a full-digital instrument console with gear position and gear shift indicator, a tall windscreen, and dual-channel ABS. Enhancing its safety is Honda’s smart ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) system which detects sudden braking and automatically activates the hazard lights. Besides, the CB 500X also gets the Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) that automatically disables engine ignition via the electronic control unit.
The CB 500X is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor that produces 47PS and 43Nm. This motor is paired with a six-speed transmission, which also gets a slip-and-assist clutch. The engine performance may sound a bit dull, however, the motor puts down power in a linear and stress-free manner, which makes it ideal for touring.
Honda CB 500X Suspension & Brakes
The CB 500X is underpinned by a long-travel telescopic fork adjustable for preload and a nine-step preload-adjustable monoshock. It rolls on 19- and 17-inch front and rear cast aluminum alloy wheels, wrapped with 110- and 160-section tyres. Braking is via a single 310mm front and a 240mm rear petal disc brake. It gets a generous 17.5-liter fuel tank and a seat height of 830mm.

The CB 500X competes against the likes of the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Benelli TRK 502. You could also take a look at the KTM 390 Adventure which offers a similar riding experience at a much more affordable price point.
