It’s like a Dream Edition, but with a bit less power.
Without a doubt, Lucid’s Air Dream Edition shattered the foundations of the globe. It has no match for distance and is one of the fastest production cars in the world, with 1,111 horsepower (828 kW) and an EPA-estimated range of 520 miles. (Helloindia.us) Of course, the Dream Edition is no longer available; the $169,000 flagship model was sold out about a year ago. For $10,000 more this summer, you can buy the 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance model.
This new model sits slightly above the Air Grand Touring, as one might assume. The power is up to 1,050 horsepower (783 kW), but the EPA-estimated range is down to 446 miles when equipped with 21-inch wheels.

By comparison, the Air Grand Touring can achieve 516 miles on a single charge with 19-inch wheels, or 469 on 21-inches. Lucid doesn’t list a 19-inch wheel option for the Grand Touring Performance.
As previously said, power is at an all-time high. The Air Grand Touring now has an output of 819 horsepower (611 kW), thus the Performance variant practically adds the equivalent of a Honda Civic Si with a little extra for good measure. With Lucid’s 900-volt architecture under the skin, the premium vehicle can achieve 60 mph in 2.6 seconds and recoup 300 miles of range in 21 minutes with a 350 kW fast charger.
“The Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance responds to the great demand we continue to see for higher-performance versions of the Lucid Air,” stated Lucid Group CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson. “Lucid’s high degree of vertical integration and in-house production of our proprietary EV powertrain and battery pack technology allows us to design and bring this model to market at such a remarkable speed.”

Some readers may notice that the Air Grand Touring Performance, with 1,050 horsepower, is marginally less powerful than the Dream Edition. When equipped with 19-inch wheels, it also lacks the Dream’s 520-mile range, however an apples-to-apples comparison with 21-inchers reduces that to 451 miles. Because the 0-60 mph performance is nearly identical, the Air Grand Touring Performance may be regarded a Dream Edition alternative in many aspects. With a starting price of $179,000, though, it’s tough to overlook the $10,000 premium for a vehicle with slightly less power and range.
According to Lucid, the Air Grand Touring Performance will go on sale in the United States in June 2022 and in Canada in August 2022.
