Mahindra Records Highest SUV Sales In Feb – Thar, XUV700 In Demand

In February 2022, Mahindra & Mahindra had its highest-ever sales of 54,455 vehicles, up 89 percent from the same month the previous year. The SUV class had a 79 percent increase in sales, the best monthly sales ever. The new Mahindra Thar and XUV700 emerged as the leading sales contributors with total sales of 27,551 units, representing a 40 percent increase over the previous month and an 80 percent increase over February 2021.

According to new information, the homegrown carmaker plans to reveal three forthcoming electric SUV designs in July 2022. The second teaser film for the new EVs, which shows their silhouette, was recently released by the firm. All three Mahindra electric SUVs will be built on the brand’s “Born-Electric” platform, which was developed in partnership with Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai, India, at Mahindra North American Technical Centre in Detroit, USA.

Mahindra is currently testing a several of its forthcoming vehicles, including the upgraded XUV300 and new-generation Scorpio SUVs. While the former is expected to arrive in Q3 of FY2022, the latter is expected to arrive around the Diwali season of 2022. Minor aesthetic and functionality updates, as well as a more powerful 1.2L mStallion petrol engine, will be included in the 2023 Mahindra XUV300 facelift. The new gasoline engine will produce 130bhp and 230Nm of torque, thanks to direct injection and cylinder heads with integrated exhaust funnels.
