Manhart, a German tuner, takes the latest BMW M3 Competition and tunes it to create the one-of-a-kind MH3 GTR. The company completely upgrades the powertrain, suspension, and styling of the quick sedan.
The S58 3.0 litre twin-turbo inline-six continues to be used in the MH3 GTR. The output is increased to 641 horsepower (478 kilowatts) and 590 pound-feet of torque by Manhart’s MHtronik auxiliary control unit. This is a significant improvement over the factory-specified 503 hp (375 kW) and 479 lb-ft of torque (650 Nm).
Additionally, Manhart provides several exhaust upgrades. The typical setup consists of four 3.9-inch (100-millimeter) diameter tips, four stainless steel pipes with valves to control sound, and stainless steel pipes. The outlets can also be had with a ceramic or carbon coating.
The tuner offers a racing setup without cats, sport downpipes with 300-cell catalytic converters, and an Otto particulate filter delete with 200-cell catalytic converters. However, Manhart offers the components for export despite the fact that they lack TÃœV approval for use on German roads.
The MH3 GTR should be able to handle the road slightly better than the already impressive M3 Competition. The purchaser has a choice between a lowering kit with H&R springs and the Manhart Variant 4 coilover setup using KW components.
Manhart doesn’t change the brakes. However, the tuner is willing to make those modifications if the buyer of the MH3 GTR requests them.
The company makes a few minor styling changes to the M3 Competition. The hood, rear deck, and trunk lid of the MH3 GTR are all lighter grey with a dark grey body. The body receives carbon components for the diffuser, side skirts, rear lip spoiler, and aero flics in the front corners.
The sedan is supported by six-spoke wheels that are 9×20 inches in the front and 10.5×20 inches in the back. In these pictures, they have a satin black finish, but Manhart can make them in any colour the customer wants.
Recaro Podium front seats with a full carbon-fiber shell are the only interior upgrade. Under the headrest, there is an embossed Manhart logo.
Manhart’s announcement is mum on the cost of the MH3 GTR. For comparison, a 2023 M3 Competition costs $77,695 with rear-wheel drive and $81,795 with all-wheel drive (after the $995 destination fee).
