A wet clutch transmission is used by Tata Motors. They believe it is more suited to Indian circumstances. It is currently unknown if the transmission will be a 6-speed or a 7-speed. The automatic gearbox will include a manual mode and drive modes as well, although we don’t know which drive modes will be available at this time. Tri-arrow elements will be added to the gear stick, as they are on all other Tata vehicles.
What we do know is that the Revotron petrol engine will be the only one with a dual-clutch automatic transmission. It’s a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with 86 PS of maximum power and 113 Nm of maximum torque. Until now, this engine was only available with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Until now, it was thought that the turbocharged petrol engine would come with a DCT transmission. However, this did not materialise, most likely because it was too expensive. The turbo-petrol engine is also 1.2 litres and three cylinders, but it is much more powerful. It has a maximum power output of 110 PS and a peak torque output of 140 Nm. It is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Altroz is also offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. It produces 90 Ps of max power and 200 Nm of peak torque. It also gets a 5-speed manual gearbox only.
