The Tata Nexon EV has set a new record by becoming the world’s first electric SUV to reach the frigid heights of the Umling La Pass in the Himalayas. The Umling La pass, at 19024 feet, is the world’s highest motorable road. The pass, which connects Chisumle and Demchok in Eastern Ladakh, is strategically important. The Tata Motors team, driving the Tata Nexon EV Max, began the journey in Leh and completed the journey across Umling La on September 18, 2022.
The Nexon Electric SUV is India’s best-selling electric vehicle, and it comes in a variety of configurations. The XM is the entry-level trim, and it costs Rs. 14.99 lakh ex-showroom. This trim has an ARAI-certified range of 312 kilometres, while the actual range in the real world is around 180-200 kilometres per charge. A 30.2 kWh battery powers the Nexon EV XM trim. It takes 8.5 hours to recharge the battery from empty fully. The Tata Nexon EV’s higher trims are known as the XZ Plus, XZ Plus Dark Edition, XZ Plus Lux, and XZ Plus Lux Dark Edition, and they come with more equipment and features. However, the battery size and range remain unchanged from the XM trim.
