Tata Tiago EV To Be Revealed On September 28

Tata Motors announced that an entirely new electric vehicle will soon be available and that it will be based on the Tiago hatchback on the eve of World EV Day. On September 28, 2022, a domestic manufacturer will introduce the Tiago EV, which won’t have any direct competitors. Upon arrival, it will also become the company’s least expensive zero-emission vehicle.

The Tata Tigor EV, which underwent a major update last year and is now based on Ziptron technology, is anticipated to share a number of similarities with the Tata Tiago EV. The Tigor electric sedan’s sales have increased significantly since receiving the update. The Tata Tiago EV will join the league of the Nexon EV as the India’s best-selling passenger electric vehicle.

According to a recent report, Tata is also working on an electrified version of the Harrier and the Punch for release sometime in 2019. The Tiago EV will be Tata’s third electric vehicle offering, though its technical specifications are currently unknown. It will likely receive a number of visual updates, interior improvements, and perhaps new colour schemes when compared to the standard ICE Tiago.

Tata Tiago EV What To Expect

A closed front grille and blue accents on the exterior and interior are expected. The 26 kWh Li-ion battery pack that powers the Tigor EV at the moment has a stated driving range of up to 306 kilometres on a single charge. The Tiago EV might, however, receive a smaller battery pack in order to be more aggressively priced.

Tata Tiago EV Price and Launch

The Tata Tiago EV could be priced at around Rs. 10 lakh given that the Tigor EV has an ex-showroom price range of Rs. 12.50 lakh to Rs. 13.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The production model of the Tiago EV, which Tata previously unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo, may have a claimed range of close to 300 km.

According to Tata, up to ten new electric vehicles will be released in India, and the Tiago EV will be built on a modified version of the company’s current ICE platform.
