Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) has crash-tested numerous made-in-India cars as part of its Safer Cars For India Mission and given them adequate safety ratings. The non-profit group has aided in the development of automotive safety awareness in emerging nations and has recently tested more vehicles, updating its safety chart for Indian vehicles.
The adult safety score for the Mahindra XUV700 is 16.03 out of 17 points, and the kid safety score is 41.66 out of 49 points. This amounts to a 5-star safety rating for adults and a 4-star safety rating for children. Tata Punch comes in second, with a 5-star rating for adult safety and a 4-star rating for child safety (adult safety score – 16.45 out of 17, child safety score 40. With an adult safety rating of 5 stars (16.42/17 points) and a child safety rating of 4 stars (37.44/49 points), the Mahindra XUV300 is ranked third on the safety table. Tata Altroz is next, with a 5-star adult safety rating (16.13/17 points) and a 3-star kid safety rating (29/49 points) respectively.

Tata Nexon comes in fifth place, with a 5-star rating for adult safety (16.06/17 points) and a 3-star rating for kid safety (25/49 points). The Mahindra Thar received a 4-star adult safety rating (12.52/17 points) and a 4-star kid safety rating (41.11/49 points), the highest safety grade given to a body-on-frame SUV by Global NCAP to date.
The Honda City (fourth-generation model) was rated 4-stars for adult safety (12.03/17 points) and 4-stars for child safety (38.27/49 points). The Tata Tigor EV is ranked seventh, with a 4-star safety rating for both adult (12/17 points) and kid (37.24/49 points) occupants.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser just received a 4-star rating for adult safety (13.52/17 points) and a 3-star rating for child safety (36.68/49 points) in a crash test. With a 4-star adult safety rating (12.52/17 points) and a 3-star kid safety rating (34.15/49 points), Tata Tigor and Tiago tie for tenth place.
