The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6 gets fuel injection and an additional catalytic converter, which are the main reason for the price hike. Power and torque have increased by 1PS and 0.2Nm to 24.5PS and 18.5Nm on the BS6 version, while weight has gone up by 2kg. Apart from a BS6-compliant fuel-injected motor, the Pulsar NS200 BS6 remains cosmetically and mechanically unchanged. The 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor remains unchanged. It makes 12.4PS of power at 7250rpm and 13.3Nm of torque at 5500rpm, mated to a 5-speed transmission. However, Yamaha says the engine is now tuned for better low-end performance. The same goes for the bike’s underpinnings. The FZS-Fi retains its telescopic fork and monoshock setup. Anchoring the bike is a 282mm disc up front and a 220mm disc at the rear. Tyre dimensions remain unchanged as well – a 100/80-section type up front and a 140/60-section tyre at the rear.

2023 Honda Hornet 200 Powertrain
The 184cc single-cylinder air-cooled mill on the Hornet 2.0 is the largest that Honda makes in India. It produces 17.27PS at 8,500rpm and 16.1Nm at 6,000rpm. Honda claims it has a healthy mid-range performance. However, these figures aren’t comparable to 200cc motorcycles like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V or the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200. These are more in tune with bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar 180F and the TVS Apache RTR 180 2V. The Hornet 2.0 gets a simple five-speed transmission. The Hornet 2.0 becomes Honda’s first made-in-India product to offer a USD fork. It is the most affordable motorcycle on sale with a USD fork. At the rear, a preload-adjustable monoshock is affixed to a box-section swingarm. Petal disc brakes add to the premium quotient of the Hornet 2.0, but only a single-channel ABS system is offered.

The 155cc motor powering the Gixxer was already fuel-injected, and has now become BS6-compliant thanks to some new ECU maps and an additional catalytic converter. As a result, output has taken a hit, down from 14.1PS/14Nm to 13.8PS/13.6Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Gixxer is held together by a single-downtube frame and suspension components comprising a conventional telescopic fork and preload-adjustable monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch wheels at both ends and anchorage is provided by disc brakes at both ends assisted by single-channel ABS. The increase in weight on the BS6 version is insignificant, just 1kg.

The big change on the new motorcycle is the larger 163cc motor. The fuel-injected, air-cooled engine produces 12.92PS and 14Nm. The power output is identical to the Unicorn 150, but torque has gone up by 1.2Nm. It still continues to employ a 5-speed transmission. While the Unicorn BS6 shares its underpinnings with the CB Unicorn 150, the new Honda bike is 6kg lighter than the older motorcycle. Also, the Unicorn BS6 is 10mm shorter than the CB Unicorn 150 but features a longer seat. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic fork and monoshock, while braking is done via disc brake at front and a drum brake unit at the back.
